What INFANRIX is used for?
It is used to immunise against diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis (whooping cough)
Talk to your doctor, if your child:
Are allergic to any other ingredients of this medicine
Have or had any illness affecting the nervous system within 7 days after previous vaccination with a vaccine against pertussis (whooping cough) disease
Have severe infection with a high temperature
Have any medical conditions like infantile spasms, uncontrolled epilepsy or progressive encephalopathy (disease of brain)
Have breathing difficulty
Have immune deficiency condition
Have bleeding problem
This medicine will be given by your doctor or nurse
It will be injected into the upper arm muscle, upper leg muscle or thigh muscle or under the skin (subcutaneously)
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects although not everybody gets them.
Serious
Common
Swelling of limbs, face, eyes, inside of nose, mouth or throat
Shortness of breath, breathing or swallowing difficulties
Hives, itching (especially of the hands or feet), reddening of skin (especially around the ears), or severe
Unusual tiredness or weakness that is sudden and severe
Muscular aches and pains
Convulsions or fits
Fever over 40°C
Crying for 3 hours or more
Tell your doctor if your child is taking or recently taken or might take any other medicines or has recently received any other vaccine.
Storage
Keep this medicine out of reach of the children
Store in a refrigerator at 2-8°C
