What MACPEE is used for? MACPEE is used to treat urinary retention (holding urine in the bladder) and in the treatment of reflux oesophagitis (inflammation of the oesophagus)
Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, If you Are allergic to Bethanechol chloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine Have blockage of your gut Have recent heart attack Have recent surgery on your stomach Are elderly
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you The usual dose for adults is 10 to 25 mg taken three to four times a day MACPEE should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. They should be taken half an hour before food It is advisable to take MACPEE on an empty stomach to reduce the risk of feeling sick If you take more MACPEE If you take more MACPEE, contact your doctor or the nearest hospital casualty department immediately If you forget to take MACPEE If you miss a dose and remember within an hour of when you should have taken it, you can take your usual dose Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose. Take your next in the usual time If you stop taking MACPEE Do not stop taking MACPEE unless your doctor tells you to do so
Common Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Nausea and vomiting Sweating and Stomach pains
Tell your doctor if you are taking, Quinidine and procainamide, medicine used to treat abnormal heart rhythms Distigmine and carbachol medicines used to treat urinary retention Trimethaphan medicines used to reduce high blood pressure during surgery as an adjunct to anaesthesia
Storage Keep this medicine out of reach of children Do not use this medicine after the expiry date Store at room temperature (15-25°C)
