What MICHELLE is used for?
MICHELLE is used to
Reduce the symptoms of the menopause
It is used only in women who still have a womb (uterus)
It is not used as a contraceptive
Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:
Are allergic to progesterone or any other ingredients of this medicine.
Have unusual vaginal bleeding
Have high blood pressure
Have a medical condition that causes bleeding
Have severe liver problems or jaundice
Have ever had breast or endometrial cancer
Have a miscarriage and your physician suspects some tissue is still in the uterus or pregnancy outside of the womb
Have colitis (inflammation of the colon causing frequent attacks of diarrhoea with mucous or blood)
Have problems controlling your bowel movements (faecal incontinence)
Have epilepsy
Have migraine or eye problems
Have asthma
Have diabetes
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
The recommended dose is 200 mg daily at bedtime, for twelve days in the last half of each therapeutic cycle (beginning on Day 15 of the cycle and ending on Day 26)
Take this medicine by mouth
Swallow the medicine whole with a glass of water
Take this medicine at bedtime
Take two medicines at bedtime on days 15 to 26 of your 28- day cycle
If you take more MICHELLE
If you take more MICHELLE than you should, talk to your doctor or go to a hospital
If you forget to take MICHELLE
If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember it
However, if it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose
Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose
If you stop taking MICHELLE
Do not stop taking this medicine before doctor tells to do
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Altered periods
Amenorrhoea
Intercurrent bleeding
Headaches
Tell your doctor if you are taking,
Phenobarbital, phenytoin and carbamazepine medicines used for epilepsy
Rifampicin, rifabutin used for tuberculosis
Nevirapine, efavirenz, nelfinavir used for HIV infection
Bromocriptine used for problems with the pituitary gland or parkinson’s disease
Cyclosporin used to suppress the immune system
Ketoconazole used for fungal infections
Storage
Keep this medicine out of reach of children
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date
Store at room temperature (15-25ºC)
